Praise then darkness, and creation unfinished

I grew up mostly in NYC but I think Metrocards came out while I was living in Boston. I had one of those plastic key fobs that holds ten tokens. I was delighted by the concept, and annoyed that it makes it so easy for them to raise the fares. I think that somewhere in a box I have one of each kind of subway token I’ve ever used, including Boston.

I do like the RFID CharlieCards used in Boston better.
