It feels as though I spent much of last week getting over jet lag, other tiring effects of travel, and/or the stressful day of apartment hunting. Meanwhile,
julian_tiger seems to be alternating between being snugglier than usual and napping a lot, as if he's hoping that all will be normal when he wakes up this time. I suspect he doesn't actually want more snuggling than usual, he just has one fewer person to snuggle.
I woke up this morning feeling a bit more like myself. So, I went to the gym (getting there later than usual, probably because of the shift to daylight saving time, but not so late as to have to deal with lunchtime crowding). I had a pretty thorough workout, and on my way out talked to a manager and arranged to cancel my membership as of April 3, because I'm moving. (In retrospect, I think I overdid something: my left knee hurt suddenly when I was getting off the train at the end of this outing, and then was fine a few minutes later, probably before the advil had time to take effect.)
I went down to Excellent Dumpling for lunch. The server smiled and asked "Usual order?" even though I haven't been there much in the last few months. I almost said yes just to see what she would bring, but instead asked for egg drop soup and rice cakes with shrimp (the rice cakes would definitely have been a possible "usual order," but without the soup). A tasty meal, and I was happy just sitting there with my soup; a small thing, but that's one of my places, and it's not easy to find good egg drop soup.
Thence to REI in search of a replacement daypack, a jacket, and a new water bottle; I dropped that last at the gym this morning and the cap broke off. It's still functional, though. I wound up with a short raincoat and a down vest, as well as grumpiness about manufacturers who don't want to make things for women with large upper arms, much less broad shoulders. This after trying on a few fleece jackets from different manufacturers. I suspect I'm going to be doing a lot of layering (in Seattle, most likely raincoat plus sweater).
No luck on the daypack; I have tabs open for a couple of possibilities, neither of them really ideal, but I think I have to pick one and order it, given the poor condition of my existing daypack. (I know what I want; nobody seems to be making it. The company that made the bag I am replacing now does only single-strap things to be worn across the body, which are touted as good for the back but aren't good for my shoulder.
( yes, I've been exercising, just not posting about it, but here are some numbers )
