You know how they say ripping a band-aid off hurts less than peeling it off slowly? That's not always true. This morning, on my way to the shower, I carelessly and quickly pulled a band-aid off my foot, and tore the skin.
So, direct pressure to stop the bleeding, followed by washing, antibiotic ointment, and bandaging with a gauze pad and some tape. No shower.
The torn spot is at the very edge of the foot, partly on the sole. I am standing and walking as little as possible, which gets in the way of everything from minor chores to going out this evening. Never mind the walk to the bus (several blocks right now, because it's been rerouted due to holiday traffic), at the moment I don't even want to walk as far as the door of the building.
I hope that if I'm careful today, one day of doing almost nothing will be enough. Also, I am glad I did all my exercises yesterday.
