I left the flapper home when I went to Montreal last Wednesday, to let the inflamed bit of my gum heal, and because I didn't want to risk losing it if I had to take it out and find somewhere to put it. I got back yesterday afternoon, and tried putting the flapper in after dinner, but it wasn't really comfortable.

So, I decided to wait until today. I've tried several times today, all without success, but with different kinds of failure: inability to get it seated, so it sort of wobbles in my mouth; pain in my gum along the entire bottom of the flapper; pain in the same place as I was having ten days ago; and having it stick out and get in the way of moving my tongue in my mouth. Discovering new ways for it to not work really isn't progress.

I have another appointment at the dentist's Friday afternoon. I may make one more attempt to put the thing in tonight, or I may wait until tomorrow morning. *feh* This is frustrating as well as painful. (The best I've managed was to wear it for about an hour, after the dental assistant helped me put it in place the first time.)

The other problem is that my legs and knees were in bad shape last night, and no better today, in ways that make both stand and walking even short distances painful, and I'd have to climb 15 or so stairs to get from the sidewalk to his elevator, plus the half dozen steps from my apartment to the sidewalk.
