And yes, I've asked in the bank for £5 coins in change and received them, and even seen them used in shops (very very rarely) but all the other coins are in totally normal circulation (the one pound coins come with at least 8 different back patterns, the £2 coins with at least four, the 50p with at least three and the five pound coins are issued as specials so there's usually a new one every year or two)
