In 2003, I quoted Terry Pratchett on the unfortunate fact that there's no such word as "noonlight." Today, I checked the online Merriam-Webster dictionary, and the word is there.
The OED has it too, first citation in 1598. Looks like Terry was wrong, it has been a word for a long time. :) And the citations go up to 1993 so I guess it's still being used. That's cool. It is the kind of word that there should be.
