[livejournal.com profile] lisajulie is sending me a fine care package: gingerbread and a cleaver. We will eat, and smite, with joy.

Also, I put in another six hours of boring office work today--getting out a mailing, including taking it to the post office, and some more database stuff, including the discovery that the list of email addresses I was being given to add overlapped significantly with the list I'd taken out the day before for bouncing. Apparently the company whose database I was adding to and updating sends out "e-merge" documents that look like spam. I also looked at one bounce message that I can explain only as Microsoft Exchange being stupid: "recipient is unavailable." The sanest explanation is that this is its way of saying "mailbox full." (I was only asked to verify that I'd entered the address in the database correctly, but I still think like a mail admin, I guess.)

My jumped-to-conclusion is that "recipient is unavailable" would be either someone's in a meeting and their calendar and email are in league against anyone contacting them, or someone's "I am on holiday" message hasn't been set up properly.

I have to tell you that the image of a care package containing gingerbread and a cleaver just breaks me up. This was probably my favorite line of everything I read yesterday.
